Biltmore and More

What a busy week we have had! We finally got a break or did we? We packed so much into one week that we’re not sure we can call this fall “break”! It’s so tiring, and that’s coming from Elizabeth!

The week is almost over and we got to fit a few things in, well maybe more than a few! We had big plans to attend a wedding on our first day together, but unfortunately, Hurricane Matthew had other ideas. We made it halfway there and had to turn around. We were disappointed, but we made the best of our evening anyway by having ice cream.

We made a visit to Biltmore and hitched a ride on a carriage! We saw wild turkeys on our excursion and Elizabeth wants to mention the horse poop. It smelled a little. The view was really good (except the back end of the smelly horse)! The Biltmore House was amazing, and this particular view is only available if you take a carriage or trail ride. Plus, you got to pet the horse’s muzzle. The only part that was annoying was that Aunt Jenn had to take so many pictures - if Aunt Jenn is typing this, she shouldn’t have to write bad things about herself, but this is our blog, so I guess we both have a voice??

We explored downtown playing Pokemon Go, and we carved an amazing pumpkin. The pattern we used was BB-8, because that’s Elizabeth’s favorite Star Wars character. While not an easy carving, he was cute and cool.

Finally, Elizabeth made it to Grandma and Grandpa’s house, and convinced them to go hiking. The mountains this time of year are incredibly pretty. She also got to visit the Cherokee Museum. Sadly, Aunt Jenn had to work and missed this adventure. Elizabeth got some magnets at the museum which are actually really cool.

Now Elizabeth and Aunt Jenn are reunited and sitting on the couch writing about their time together in the mountains while listening to Cocoa snoring.

The Day of Beauty and Fun

So today our morning started off separately. Aunt Jenn spent the morning with Katherine (also know as mommy) while Elizabeth was watching hummingbirds and went to the park with Grandma. We both had lots of fun, but the afternoon was busy on the road to Kmart where we all met.

We left Kmart to go to the NC Arboretum. We saw lots of plants and displays made out of Legos. Elizabeth’s favorite one was the Monarch Butterfly on the pink flower. The sculpture was ginormous! Aunt Jenn really liked the Bald Eagle. It has the mountains as a background and was very pretty. There was also a wedding taking place and it was very beautiful. It was nice to watch.

After that we went to dinner and had Mexican food. It was yummy, and it was filling. We walked to Kmart and caught many Pokemons. When we left Kmart it was pouring rain! Aunt Jenn braved the rain and got the car. As we drove away we were amazed by two rainbows in the amazing sky.

Instead of going straight home we went downtown to catch Pokemon. Aunt Jenn drove the car in circles while Elizabeth and Katherine did all the Pokestops and caught some new and old Pokemon! We had a Pikachu sighting, and we were so excited. Unfortunately, he never appeared.

At last we reached the house, and now we’re off to watch E.T. This will be the first time Elizabeth has ever seen it. Goodnight to all. We look forward to telling you more of the story next time. Have fun and enjoy the beauty around YOU!
